Someshwar Temple & Waterfall

A riverside Shiva temple beside a seasonal waterfall on the Godavari, popular in the monsoon.

The Someshwar Mahadev temple stands on the banks of the Godavari a few kilometres from the city centre. The waterfall below is strongest from July to October and can be dangerous; follow the railings and local advice. Outside the rains the site is quiet, with a calm riverside atmosphere and small stalls selling corn and tea.
