Gondeshwar Temple, Sinnar

A 12th-century Yadava-era Hemadpanthi temple, one of the finest stone temples in Nashik district.

Gondeshwar is a Shiva temple complex in Sinnar built in the Hemadpanthi style: precisely cut black stone laid without mortar. The central shrine is surrounded by four smaller shrines, a layout known as panchayatana. Carved pillars and doorways reward slow viewing. It is a good half-day trip for history lovers who have already seen Nashik's main shrines.
